VETERINARIAN – FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME WANTED ROCHESTER, NY LOCATION
We are seeking a Veterinarian to become part of our Rochester, NY team. The role entails a range of duties including treating ill or injured animals, educating the public on diseases and infections, advocating for animal health and wellness, documenting activities, adhering to veterinary protocols, utilizing diagnostic tools, and implementing quarantine or testing protocols to prevent disease proliferation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion towards pets and their owners, exhibit excellent dexterity in managing small animals during precise procedures, and be able to make swift decisions under pressure concerning an animal's welfare. They should also possess a deep affection and understanding of animals, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, knowledge of animal behavior, the capacity to work long hours and respond on-demand, and proficiency in using medical technologies for diagnosis, research, and surgical procedures involving animals.
New graduates are encouraged to apply; mentorship and training will be provided by seasoned veterinarians. Openings are available at all three of our locations, with options for both part-time and full-time employment.
Our practice provides a base salary plus a pro-sal opportunity, a 401k plan with up to a 4% match, health and disability insurance, paid time off (PTO) and flexible scheduling, coverage for PLIT and DEA renewal fees, a VIN subscription, and a continuing education (CE) stipend. Work hours consist of either 10-hour or 8-hour shifts, from Monday through Friday.
Applicants must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited institution, be licensed or eligible for licensing in New York State, have at least two years of experience (though new graduates are welcome), experience in routine surgeries, and a proven dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth. While not mandatory, dental experience is advantageous.
