Job Summary:
As an emergency veterinarian, your job duties include assessing, diagnosing, and providing critical care for an animal in a medical emergency, such as after a traumatic injury or sudden onset of a condition. You operate on animals and oversee other veterinary staff. You are also part of the recovery process, helping pet owners to understand medicine and recovery strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
· May supervise and train veterinary students and other staff members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Comprehensive patient work ups
· Client communication and education
· Referring veterinarian communication
· Diagnostic procedures & surgery
· Medical Record Responsibilities
· Pharmacy duties
· Promotes teamwork & staff efficiency
· Financial responsibilities
· Continuing Education Responsibilities
· Other duties may be assigned as the need arises
Education and Experience:
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, bending, and lifting.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
