Midland Independent School District is Hiring a District Community Connections & Foundation Program Coordinator Near MIDLAND, TX

POSITION: District Community Connections & Foundation Program Coordinator

EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt

NUMBER OF DAYS:  According to district approved calendar

DEPARTMENT: Midland Education Foundation

REPORTS TO: Education Foundation Director

SUPERVISES: None

EDUCATION:  

  • Bachelor's Degree required

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years program management experience
  • Must have demonstrated experience building partnerships and leading teams to a strategic vision
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with analytical thinking
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to: Microsoft Word and Excel, email and Internet, and a general database usage understanding
  • Ability to negotiate diverse personalities and speak in front of groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Program management in youth, community, or education programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Program Management:

1. Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients (staff of MEF, parents,

and MISD staff) to meet or exceed their expectations within organizational parameters

2. Manage all logistics of the grant process, including but not limited to posting grant applications and

instructions, accepting grant applications, and tracking grant applications

3. Participate in all grant committee meetings and take notes on discussions, approvals and denials on

grant applications and to ensure all grants support the mission and impact areas designated by MEF

4. Coordinate within MEF communication guidelines, develop marketing pieces about current MEF

programs for community awareness and develop marketing pieces for teachers and other district

employees to explain the grant process

5. Coordinate with MEF Director on proposals for programs and to ensure sustainability of programs and

work with fundraising team to identify and cultivate donors for new and existing programs

6. Build and leverage relationships with MEF staff, MISD staff, community volunteers, and external

organizations to strengthen programs

7. Coordinate with grant recipients and bookkeeper to ensure timely and accurate use of funds for

program

8. Working with the Director and marketing team to create storytelling files (quotes, pictures, program

success stories) to use as public relations and marketing pieces

9. Create thorough and valid assessments of each program and evaluate opportunities to scale programs

10. Coordinate with assessment groups to ensure process is not overly cumbersome and yields strong

assessments that address the strategic vision of the organization, the funder’s expectations and goals,

and the impact on students

11. Other duties as assigned by the Foundation Director

Community Partners and Volunteer Coordinator:

1. Build relationships that meaningfully engage partners, parents and volunteers that support and impact

student achievement

2. Opportunities to collaborate: Booster Clubs, All Pro Dads, Opportunity Tribe, Foster Grandparents,

Every Neighbor, corporate tutor programs, reading programs, local non-profit organizations, Chamber

of Commerce

3. Work with District Raptor specialist to ensure all volunteers have completed background check

4. Coordinate corporate volunteer opportunities where partners in education can easily and meaningfully

volunteer in schools

5. Coordinate with the Chamber of Commerce on their Partners in Education program and serve on their

Education Committee

6. Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses, non-profit organizations, and other community

stakeholders to foster community engagement, and build mutual trust with the community and district
