Midland Independent School District is Hiring a 2024-2025 Associate Principal of Operations (Legacy Senior High School) Near Midland, TX

POSITION: Secondary – Associate Principal of Operations

EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt

NUMBER OF DAYS:  According to district approved calendar

DEPARTMENT: School Leadership

REPORTS TO: Campus Principal

SUPERVISES: Supervise and evaluate the performance of personnel as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree from accredited college or university
  • Valid Mid-Management certification
  • Certified in the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Three years of experience as a successful classroom teacher
  • Three years of experience in instructional leadership roles 

Position Function/Purpose

 Assist the head campus principal in overall administration of school operations. Assume the role of principal during the head principal’s absence.

Essential functions

Campus Personnel:

  1. Maintain staff postings, substitute processes, and HR related requirements
  2. Manage new-hire on-boarding
  3. Conduct T-TESS appraisals
  4. Act as Campus PEIMS coordinator
  5. Coordinate and conduct interviews for potential staff members
  6. Supervise Assistant Principals

Organizational Processes:

  1. Create and maintain Campus Master Schedule
  2. Coordinate and oversee Staff and Student Schedules
  3. Coordinate calendar of school events and administrative assignments
  4. Oversee student enrollment processes
  5. Coordinate campus activities
  6. Oversee summer school organization and processes
  7. Coordinate and monitor campus attendance processes
  8. Serve as campus contact for gradebook and gradebook training
  9. Coordinate and oversee graduation
  10. Coordinate and maintain campus website
  11. Coordinate and oversee school safety and emergency plans
  12. Oversee all campus testing logistics
  13. Manage and oversee federal funding grants and requirements
  14. Support the development of campus budget

Special Knowledge/Skills

1. Working knowledge of school operations

2. Ability to evaluate operational programs and effectiveness

3. Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills

4. Ability to work well with a diverse population

5. Knowledge of student coding and PEIMS data and database systems

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and

pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
