Philadelphia, PA

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Vice President of Regulatory Affairs.

This is an Executive level position which reports to the President/COO working under limited supervision and is responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees for the organization.

This role designs, implements and evaluates and the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives; ensures regulatory compliance with industry rules and regulations; and as a member of the Leadership team sets the example employees are to follow in relation to workplace safety and risk mitigation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Designs, implements and monitors various health, safety and compliance initiatives to ensure a safe workplace and compliance with regulatory standards.

* Track and report all workplace injuries; acting as main point of contact with Worker’s compensation carrier, collaborates with Human Resources when dealing with work related injuries to ensure compliance with applicable state, federal and employment law; participate in Worker’s Comp hearings as needed.

* Chair Safety Committee and facilitate meetings; follow up on outstanding items discussed and ensure resolution obtained.

* Ensure product compliance to applicable regulations such as TSCA, DOT, International Inventories and others as needed.

* Process new product compliance; PMN and LVE applications.

* File all required reporting; Toxic Release Inventory, Air Permits, Tier II reporting, 25R Source Reduction Strategy, Waste Permits and others as required.

* Complete OSHA 300 Logs, report workplace injuries when required, schedule exams and testing as needed, and maintain all work-related injury files.

* Review and renew insurance policies annually or as required, making recommendations to Senior Management regarding vendor changes, pricing increases or issue with coverage.

* Assists the Administrative Specialist with delivering safety training to employees.

* Coach, train, and mentor department staff; deliver disciplinary action when necessary; in conjunction with Human Resources, recruit, hire and onboard health and safety personnel; enforce company and safety policies; conduct performance reviews; and approve time off requests.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook

* Strong leadership presences with solid understanding of management best practices

* Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements, federal, state and local laws as they apply to chemical manufacturing.

* Experience facilitating Safety Committees and maintaining meeting minutes

* Highly organized with exceptional time management skills

* Strong problem resolution skills

* Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with people from various backgrounds and from all levels within the organization.

* Experience handling confidential information.
