We are currently recruiting for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist that will cultivate a staff culture of belonging. Is that you?

The Human Resources Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Specialist is responsible for coordinating projects and key initiatives that promote and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout the agency. The HR DEI Specialist is responsible for day-to-day activities of DEI such as gathering data, conducting research, and working collaboratively with the DEI Committee and HR Recruiting Specialists. This role will also provide staff with direct support to enhance a positive and inclusive environment as it relates to the hiring, integration, training, evaluations and promotions of agency personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree plus three years of administrative work experience; or Associate's Degree and five or more years of administrative work experience required. SHRM or HRCI Certification may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Two years of acceptable Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming experience in a work, school, volunteer or military environment is required.
  • Experience in hiring and recruitment, and employee and management presentations required.
  • Position requires solid oral and written communication skills individually, and with small and large groups; plus, intermediate level computer and technical skills, including MS Office, databases, and video conferencing.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

  • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
  • Successful registration with the Child Care Division's Central Criminal Background Registry is required.

  • This position is subject to MWVCAA's pre-employment drug testing and drug free workplace policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus; hearing abilities required.

  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment, documents and phone.

  • May require use of headset for answering phones.

  • Occasional driving may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor, office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Occasional work in shelters and at child-care sites may be required.

  • Working with coworkers/clients over the phone, via video conferencing and in-person.

  • Occasional noise and distractions in work spaces.
