Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, evaluating, and acquiring top talent for the organization. This individual will perform a variety of administrative duties to support a smooth transition from candidate to employee. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for managing the candidate experience while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws, as well as internal and external policies, procedures, and audit requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the administrative work to support an effective and efficient talent acquisition process. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Helps to maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions.
    • Writes and posts job openings on the corporate career page and various other websites.
    • Utilizes online recruiting resources to identify and source candidates.
    • Coordinates scheduling for recruiters and hiring manager interviews.
    • Conducts backgrounds screens and reference checks.
    • Drafts offer letters.
    • Serves as a point of contact for new hires during the onboarding process.
    • Facilitates new hire orientation classes.
    • Processes new hire documents.
  • Recruits and hires non-exempt and exempt level positions for assigned areas of the organization in a timely fashion with qualified candidates.
  • Maintains all pertinent applicant workflow and interview data in the Human Resources Information System.
  • Represents the company at job fairs, career fairs, and other related events.
  • Maintains a high-quality candidate experience throughout the entire recruitment lifecycle, ensuring exceptional candidate communication through all stages of the application, hiring and onboarding process.
  • Works closely with hiring managers to discuss and understand current and future hiring needs to support strategic and operational plans; ensures a legal and professional hiring process; communicates the roles and responsibilities of the hiring manager and Human Resources in the talent selection process; structures interviews that will help gain more information from a candidate; and ensures a positive candidate experience.
  • Develops new strategies and programs to attract candidates; manages recruitment costs and turnover rates through proactive recruitment methods.
  • Works with HR management to update employment policies and other HR communications. Ensures updated documents are posted in a timely manner and accessible to employees.
  • Stays abreast of wage and industry trends within labor market to remain a competitive employer.
  • Ensures legal compliance with employment law by monitoring and following HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensures required approvals are obtained and documented for requisitions and employment offers.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or business or equivalent related experience preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) year’s recruiting or human resources experience strongly preferred.
  • Recognized HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP or SPHR, SHRM SCP) preferred.
  • Previous Experience using ADP WorkforceNow strongly preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, work well under pressure, and able to meet deadlines required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
