Job Summary

Provide service to bank customers by conducting appropriate transactions and relevant trouble shooting. Tellers are expected to provide an extraordinary customer experience through a relationship driven approach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  1. Represent MMB in a courteous and professional manner, provide an extraordinary customer experience through a relationship driven, consultive sales approach.
  2. Knowledge of MMB’s products and services and ability to recommend and train/educate customers on solutions that fit their need.
  3. Focus on and meet individual and team goals, including training, sales, and customer relationship initiatives
  4. Comply with all Bank policies/procedures and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  5. Assist Customers with transaction based requests, such as:
    1. Receives checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit
    2. Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete Hold Notices
    3. Process savings withdrawals
    4. Cash checks: verify endorsement, receive proper identification, and ensure validity
    5. Issue cashier’s checks: verify identity, ensure funds are collected, and check OFAC
    6. Identify counterfeit currency
    7. Accept loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receipts
    8. Process cash advances, redeem U.S. Savings bonds
    9. Maintain appropriate Currency Transaction Reports
    10. Balance and maintain cash drawer, buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that drawer cash limits are not exceeded
    11. Process safe deposit box payments
  6. Assist Customers with routine account-related requests/inquiries such as:
    1. Funds (manual and automatic) transfers
    2. Stop payments
    3. Inquiries about bank deposit products and service charges
    4. Inquiries about ATM and Debit Card usage and limits
    5. Inquiries about checking and savings account transactions
    6. Inquiries about funds availability and account balances
    7. Inquiries and troubleshooting for Online Banking, Cash Management, and Mobile Banking services
    8. Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary
    9. Research customer questions regarding electronic funds transfers and initiate “Reg E” disputes when appropriate, including the completion of all necessary documents and affidavits
    10. Perform customer requested research, including printing statement and check copies
  7. Cross-sell and/or identify cross sale opportunities
  8. Comply with security procedures established to ensure safety for employees and customers, to safeguard cash supplies, to protect the privacy of customer account information, as well as, follow fraud prevention guidelines established to protect the Bank from unnecessary losses
  9. Other duties as assigned
