Job Description: Microchip Technology Incorporated (“Microchip”) is seeking an experienced Sr. Paralegal II to support Microchip’s litigation team on e-discovery and litigation matters, including collection, preparation, and review of documents for production, supporting internal legal hold process, support of complex litigation, performing legal research and analysis under direction of counsel, and organization and maintenance of legal files and databases. The Sr. Paralegal II position reports to Microchip’s Director & Assistant General Counsel – IP & Litigation. In this position, the successful candidate will: Support all aspects of e-discovery, including legal holds, document collection, document searches, document review, and document production; Organize and maintain legal files for litigation and other matters; Maintain internal calendar of deadlines for pending litigation and third-party discovery matters; Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues under the direction of counsel; Assist counsel in preparation and submission of pleadings, briefs, exhibits, and other legal documents, administrative filings and corporate documents, including completion of initial drafts of such documents; Monitor expenses under direction of counsel. Review invoices from outside attorneys, adjusters and third party vendors to ensure accuracy and compliance with guidelines; Conduct various document searches and factual research. Create and maintain internal case databases, run searches on internal and external document databases and systems; Assist in gathering information and documents from Company personnel necessary to respond to document requests and subpoenas; Process certain emails and requests that come to the Legal Department email inbox; Review and track incoming correspondence from outside counsel; Perform related duties as assigned or as situation dictates; Coordinate with IP paralegals; and Perform other duties at the discretion of Microchip’s General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel – IP & Litigation. Requirements/Qualifications: The successful candidate will: Have at least ten years’ experience in litigation and e-discovery; both law firm and in-house experience preferred; Have a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and/or paralegal certificate; Have strong attention to detail; Have experience with organization of legal files for litigation and e-discovery matters; Be organized and able to prioritize numerous tasks to meet deadlines with time constraints; Be prepared to write and proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical and typographical errors; Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and employees; Be improvement and process oriented; and work well in a collaborative team environment.
