Job Description: Microchip Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to join our Information Services Salesforce Team at our Chandler, AZ headquarters. The candidate will work closely with Information Services team members (Project Managers, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Developers and Quality Assurance) as well as business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions to a Salesforce environment with over 2500 internal users. Responsibilities include mastering the existing Microchip Salesforce implementation, leading a team of technical resources to develop and deliver new deliverables, performing code reviews, creating cross-team implementation plans and managing deployments, as well as traditional Salesforce developer tasks. Requirements/Qualifications: Education and Experience The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent discipline with at least 10 years of combined development/lead work experience or have a Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems with at least 7 years of combined development/lead work experience. All candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of experience working with Salesforce in a developer capacity. Salesforce Lead Developer Experience, responsibilities and duties will include: • Strong expertise of SFDC best practices in the areas of configuration, customization, and programming with APEX, Triggers, APIs, Flows, SOQL or SQL, with both Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura. • Leading and mentoring a global team of developers. This includes assigning work load, tracking development completion to a sprint schedule, leading and performing code reviews to optimize code performance/quality and user experience, monitoring test class coverage, mentoring developers about best practices, giving performance feedback. • Expert understanding of IT governance including environment management, release management, source code control management including managing code branches and pipelines, test class coverage, and deployment methodologies. Can help create, maintain and enforce best in class processes. • Creation of cross-team release implementation plan(s) including documenting manual steps, performing code deployments to QA & Production environments, and tracking release deployments against the plan. • Experience with Agile and Waterfall projects, and all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration, user acceptance testing, maintenance. •Experience documenting current state technical data flows and making recommendations for future state improved processes/designs,and driving the solution to the future state. • Can analyze business requirements to estimate the scope of development effort for story pointing • Can communicate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Stakeholders, and Developers regarding business requirements and translate requirements into technical designs. Can effectively communicate status, technical issues, SFDC “out of the box” capabilities, and proposed solutions. • Experience installing and administering 3rd party applications in the SFDC ecosystem. • Able to write and review technical specifications and present to team members • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, implementation, and maintenance of Salesforce technical solutions. • Experience using Microsoft Azure for User Story/Bug backlog management and code control is a plus • Salesforce certifications preferred: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II, or similar. • Understanding of Salesforce.com architecture and API’s, including Salesforce integration with 3rd party Quoting, Marketing, Searching, and Reporting solutions. Problem Solving The candidate must have the ability to think outside the box and should be capable of performing analysis to resolve complex issues. Verbal/Written Communication The candidate must have strong English language (verbal and written communication) skills. Candidate must be able to contribute in group meetings, provide project updates, write technical documents. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with internal business customers, co-workers, manager and development team (on-shore and off-shore). Team Work and Culture The candidate must be culturally compatible with Microchip’s value based structure and style and must have a good work ethic in a collaborative environment. The candidate is expected to work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week, with Monday & Tuesday as mandatory in office days. Candidate needs to be proactive, customer-oriented and be able to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.
