POSITION TITLE: High School Counseling Position (2024-2025- school year)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in School Counseling preferred
• A current K-12 Michigan Teaching Certificate with a School Counselor (NT) endorsement
• Previous teaching experience preferred
• Excellent soft skills (Great team player, positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and solid organizational skills)
• Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology
• Good public relationship skills
• Previous experience working with high school students, providing guidance on academic, social, and emotional issues, demonstrates the ability to effectively support students in school environment
• Knowledge of the academic needs of high school students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• All of the skills associated with being a high school counselor including, but not limited to:
  • Personal, academic, and career counseling for students in grades 9 & 10.
  • Presentations and scheduling responsibilities associated with grades 9 & 10.
  • Credit audits and interventions for students in grades 9 & 10.
  • BHS Testing Director, MME, WIDA, and AP exams.
  • Personal Curricula and IEP attendance for students in grades 9 & 10.
  • Homebound Instruction responsibilities for students in grades 9 & 10.
  • District Homeless Liaison.
  • Other grade 9/10 related counseling tasks as assigned.
