Position Details

POSITION TITLE: High School Agriscience/FFA Advisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time Position (2024-2025 School Year)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Valid and current State of Michigan teaching certificate.
• Certifications and qualifications necessary to teach the curricular area(s) pursued.
• Demonstrated successful classroom experience and student teaching.
• Interest and experience in leading extracurricular activities.
• Familiarity with Content Standards for Agriscience and CTE procedures.
• Experience with FFA and/or 4H preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with PBIS, Restorative Practices and Student Engagement.

Performance Responsibilities

• Develop and administer Agribusiness and Agricultural Science consistent with the school’s goals and objectives.
• To provide an exciting and safe learning environment that enables a high level of student growth and achievement.

• Effective communication with students, staff, administration, parents and community members.
• Strong computer literacy/skills and data collection methods.
• Consistent, accurate, and timely record keeping skills.
• Keen awareness of responsibilities for confidentiality and professionalism.
• Participate in professional development programs and implement best practice teaching methods.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
