Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus is now accepting applications for Director of Facilities Budget Management, Facilities Management. The Director of Facilities Budget Management provides direction and leadership with budgeting activities related to all capital and operating budgets for the Facilities Management department including the development and monitoring of the annual budget. The position analyzes financial data, oversees expense budgets, develops reports used for forecasting and results analysis, and assists in financial studies regarding projected changes in expenditures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manages budgets of all accounts allocated to units under the leadership of the Vice Provost, Facilities Management.
  • Provides direction in the development of the department’s annual financial plan.
  • Identifies potential budget issues and works with senior staff to provide alternative solutions and resolve problems.
  • Provides instruction and responds to questions relating to budget procedures and controls.
  • Services as a liaison between Business Affairs, Facilities Management and Campus Administrative Services.
  • Monitors all fiscal transactions including purchases, disbursements, change orders, budget transfers, contracts and grant awards and approves expenditures through the budgetary period in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes financial information to ensure all projects are within budget and in compliance.
  • Monitors, identifies and communicates over-expenditures.
  • Prepares budget to actual expenditure variance analysis for operating and capital budgets.
  • Oversees and/or prepares monthly, quarterly annual budgetary reports including periodic and ad-hoc management reports.
  • Prepares reports on key performance metrics and financial indicator.
  • Provides recommendations and forecasts for future fund allocations.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field and five (5) years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics and nine (9) years of relevant experience.
