Miami Beach Medical Group is Hiring a Transportation Manager Near Miami, FL

The Transportation Manager manages daily transportation activities including staff development, process improvement, and performance. Additionally, they develop the most efficient route for daily use and seek ways of saving time and money on the day-to-day operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure safety management, customer focus, tracking budget expenses, management proficiency, planning, and creating a safe, effective environment.
  • Oversee transportation department, including its assets and employees.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and courteous transportation of patients.
  • Serve customers by surveying needs and requests; auditing and improving service.
  • Accomplish patient transportation human resource objectives by interviewing, selecting, training, and mentoring drivers.
  • Verify and maintain all drivers’ licenses are valid and active.
  • Ensure all drivers are included in the companies’ auto insurance policy.
  • Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Lead all distribution, transportation planning, and strategic activities.
  • Evaluate and prepare daily schedules for patient transportation, courier pick-ups, and deliveries.
  • Keep equipment operating by establishing and enforcing operating and preventive maintenance rules, arranging for repairs.
  • Coordinate and adjust driver’s routes to accommodate emergency pickups or drop offs in and out of office for all centers.
  • Prepare daily authorizations for patients with special needs (wheelchair/stretchers) for outside transportation.
  • Communicate with members as to their pickup times, returns, and other needs.
  • Collaborate with center coordinators daily to ensure patient flow with centers.
  • Serve as contact persons for all drivers within assigned centers.
  • Monitor Skypatrol/GPS system tracking the whereabouts of assigned routes.
  • Coordinate and meet patient transportation financial objectives by forecasting requirements and establishing the most effective and cost-efficient work schedules for medical center drivers.
  • Oversee the pick-up and delivery of medical records, patients, x-ray films, and other confidential documents.
  • Answer the patient’s questions, complaints, or needs regarding transportation to maintain patient satisfaction and retention.
  • Effectively promote process improvements and maximize productivity.
  • Implement schedule and policy changes.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities.
  • Responsible for tracking, entering, and submitting the drivers’ payroll.
  • Report to administration any incidents/accidents with patients and drivers.
  • Report expenses that may include maintenance, gas receipts, and transportation department insurance.
  • Ensure maintenance and expenses of company vehicles.
  • Coordinate and submit driver’s paid time off request with sufficient time and proper coverage during requested period.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education / Licenses

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Three (3) years minimum of supervisory experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Safe driving record and knowledge of Florida streets and addresses.
  • HIPPA testing required.
  • Customer service skills and training; leadership skills and training.
  • Orientation and training of company policies and procedures.
  • Three (3) years minimum patient transport and routing experience in medical environment.
