Job Title : Maintenance Planner / Scheduler
Reports To : Maintenance Manager
Location : Andrews Tx Worksite Facility
Summary
The maintenance planning / scheduling function is the hub from which all planned maintenance activity is coordinated. The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for scheduling preventive and regular maintenance with minimal interruption to production operations.
In this capacity, the Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Operations, and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work.
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler works to ensure that Operations units balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance practices.
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler manages the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and supports other staff in effectively and efficiently utilizing the CMMS;
identifies and facilitates improvements to the performance of the CMMS; and utilizes reporting and analysis tools to leverage CMMS functionality.
Provide technical assistance and training to users; and ensures all CMMS procedures are developed, understood, and followed consistently throughout the organization.
Duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies and procedures.
The role involves accountability to goals and decision-making responsibilities.
The position requires an individual with strong organizational, analytical, technical and leadership skills; problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, independent judgement skills, inter-personal and people management skills.
The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler must possess the ability and skills to effectively provide direction, lead and work in a diverse team environment and communicate in non-technical terms to non-technical individuals.
The key challenges and responsibilities of the position :
Plan schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to operations requirements.
Provide maintenance support for production and engineering activities to ensure optimum results.
Investigate maintenance-related problems, analyze root causes and drive resolutions.
Assure compliance of proper safety, quality, and environmental requirements in work.

Plan maintenance work scopes that ensure and maintain an environmentally compliant and safe workplace.
Assign priorities to work orders and manage work backlog.
Efficiently and effectively manage unplanned emergency work so that it does not disrupt daily maintenance schedules.
Manage the sites spare parts inventory in the Computerized Maintenance Management System. (CMMS)
Assign Bill of Materials (BOM) to assets in the CMMS.
Coordinate outside contractor’s schedules to adhere to maintenance and operation’s schedules.
Communicate with Vendors to obtain optimal lead time for receiving materials, parts and equipment that meets schedule requirements.
Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Preventive Maintenance System.
Attending scheduling meetings to ensure pre-planning, implementation and schedule critiques are effective in coordinating maintenance work activities with all organizational departments.
Other duties as assigned.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
