PRIMARY PURPOSE:

It is the responsibility of the Executive Director/GM Arena to provide overall leadership and direction of all facets of the theater operations including finance/budgeting, vendor relations, contract execution, staff scheduling, human resources and technical/event setup functions; as well as working closely with Corporate Entertainment on booking and scheduling functions and coordination with all departments within the property and third-party partners. All duties are to be performed in accordance with property and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

  • Work closely with Corporate Entertainment team to develop and execute the strategic plans and vision for the property entertainment objectives.
  • Effectively plan, prioritize and communicate with the staff to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Manages and monitors all arena operations, develops fiscal budgets, and marketing strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability while also balancing the needs and impact of events within an integrated resort.
  • Works closely with other resort departments including but not limited to Sales, Convention Services, Marketing, Facilities, Security and F&B to effectively execute events.
  • Work closely with Corporate Entertainment booking to maximize event activity at the theater.
  • Direct and track monthly/annual financial budget/forecast/results, monitors division expenditures, and prepares justification for budget variations, and project increases for new projects.
  • Plans and executes capital budgets and related projects to ensure quality guest experiences.
  • Engages in continual training for best practices in the field of facility management to stay abreast on guest service trends and safety.
  • Maintain a sense of accountability and teamwork with a staff that works flexible and non-traditional hours.
  • Oversee all event and facility marketing strategies related to entertainment offerings within the property.
  • Oversee all employee relation matters in the theater department, including but not limited to: hiring, salary review, performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Provide executive oversight of all ticketing functions including, but not limited to, holds and releases to maximized revenue daily.
  • Collaborate with sales department on entertainment ideas and entertainment packages designed specifically for each convention client’s needs.
  • Ensure necessary staffing levels are maintained for all entertainment venues within the property
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all acts and performers contracted on property.
  • Provide new and different ways to continually provide the premier entertainment experience including facility cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Work closely with LV Arena management to maximize entertainment and guest experiences on property and maximizing visitorship and profits to the casino/resort from neighborhood events.
  • Work with outside hotel ambient music provider and tech services to coordinate music play lists for the property taking into consideration property events, demographics, time of year/week/day to maximize the vibe and experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 Years of Prior Relevant Experience
