APARTMENT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN -

FT Monday - Friday & on-call rotation

We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to join an established management company that promotes a professional work environment. In your role as a Maintenance Technician you will be working with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager . You will be performing daily work orders, cleaning the grounds, help with capital projects, and performing turns for vacant apartments.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Basic knowledge of building maintenance principles

Some knowledge of tools and equipment used in building maintenance - will train the right candidate in all areas listed below.

HVAC

Carpentry

Painting

Plumbing

Mechanical and Electrical

Appliances Repair, air conditioning and furnace maintenance

Landscaping and snow plowing

Roofs, maintenance and repairs

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Open to change and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Meeting deadlines on all work assignments

Assist in preparing all vacant apartments to market ready condition as needed

Respond to resident requests and work orders in a timely manner

Perform on-call emergency service as required (rotation shared with other maintenance employees)

Accurately document time sheets, daily maintenance logs, and other checklists as assigned.

Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on vacant and common areas to Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.

Assist on special projects

Responsible for the proper use of maintenance materials, equipment, and motorized vehicles.

Consistently maintains a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworker and general public

Perform other job duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Trade school or special training a plus

Exposure and Training in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting a plus!

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS & TOOLS:

Valid Driver's license with good driving record, auto insurance, and standard tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Inside and outside work in all types of weather (heat, snow, rain, cold, etc.)

Prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds

Travel requirements to other properties if necessary

HOURS/LOCATION:

This is a full-time position with hours of Monday through Friday plus on-call after-hours rotation in Edwardsburg, MI

COMPENSATION:

Gas / Cell Phone Reimbursement
Criminal background, drivers license check and drug screening required.
