You will have the tools and resources in place to manage a highly successful team of 35 delivery professionals and one exempt leader. The Tempe DC operates a private fleet within the McKesson Medical-Surgical network with service to customers throughout the Phoenix and Tucson areas as well as the Albuquerque area. In addition to the local delivery professionals, there is one cross dock where our DPs are located. Key responsibilities Lead team of delivery professionals in support of transportation wide initiatives Improve processes, quality, service, and productivity while reducing cost within transportation Coach and mentor delivery professionals to increase employee engagement Develop professional work relationships within the DC. Promote a culture of continuous improvement Private fleet, long haul, and cross dock experience preferred Manage analytics, strategy, and carrier networks planning for all customers Strong financial and data acumen; ability to analyze and utilize to drive results Ability to think critically through changing priorities and use sound judgement through stressful situations Identify/or solve operational issues by implementing continuous improvement or lean initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results Must possess high motivation, enthusiasm, and dedication to our team and customers. Engagement in the field with sales partners as well as customers. Required Skills Passion and commitment to continuous improvement with demonstrated success in leading and influencing team members Must be a positive change leader with strong interpersonal skills Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to see the “big picture” Ability to investigate issues to root cause and develop safe guards from event(s) occurring again 10 plus years in a transportation and/or operations environment Proactively identifying potential issues to prevent their occurrence Understanding of transportation software. Understanding of Department of Transportation, Federal and State regulations. Produces and maintains company records for compliance. Profit & Loss responsibility Ability to engage delivery professionals even when out on the road for majority of the day Advanced computer skills including typical office suite programs Education 4-year degree or related field equivalent experience Minimum Requirements 10 years operational experience 10 years managerial experience 7-10 years transportation experience DOT Medical Card Schedule Mon - Fri 5am - 3pm Location Tempe, AZ - Fully Onsite Role Physical Requirements General office demands Position includes standing, sitting, walking in a warehouse environment Must be able to carry and operate a laptop Must be willing to work various hours in a 24/5 operational warehouse Must be willing to go out on road with Driver Partners McKesson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
