MG M seeks a Financial Analyst to join our dynamic and diverse Finance team in our New York City or Boston office. MG M provides the perfect opportunity and culture for someone looking to take on responsibility, develop their skills, work hard and have fun in a professional, fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, as well as a variety of senior leaders such as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Legal Officer, Director of Revenue and Associates, Partners, Equity Partners, the Performance Management Committee, and the Executive Committee
  • Prepare a variety of reporting and analyses for attorney and senior leadership review
  • Manage all daily reporting by prioritizing and preparing ad-hoc requests, leveraging SQL, Excel and MG M’s Accounting System (Aderant)
  • Analyze law firm data using MG M’s software platforms, SQL and SSRS and prepare reports for Partners and firm leadership
  • Analyze firm processes, budgets, software, and reports to find areas of improvement
  • Assist Manager of FP&A with monthly analysis of expenses by providing budget-to-actual reports
  • Prepare monthly financial reports such as income statement and expense trends for the partnership
  • Assist Accounting Team with year end audit requests
  • Demonstrate improvement in understanding of firm and legal business environment
  • Demonstration of high work product will lead to additional opportunities and exposure


Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. This position works closely with a variety of different departments from different offices, including senior leadership such as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Legal Officer and Senior Partners
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is required; advanced understanding of excel statements such as “Sumif” and “Vlookup” preferred
  • SQL knowledge preferred but not required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Curious, willing to learn by taking on new and different tasks and demonstrating value by adding thoughtful insight to discussions
  • Be a team player!


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4
