MFA Oil Company is Hiring a Human Resources & Benefits Manager Near Columbia, MO

OverviewThe Human Resources and Benefits Manager oversees all transaction processing activities and recordkeeping functions in the Human Resources area to insure accurate and timely performance and compliance with all approved company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations. This position also works closely with the Vice President Human Resources to develop and implement various human resources policies, programs, and services. MFA Oil Company is an Equal Opportunity/Drug-Free Employer. ResponsibilitiesPlan, direct and supervise all activities related to the administration of human resources records including new hires, promotions and transfers, salary adjustments, terminations, claims for unemployment compensation and inquiries for employment references and employment verifications.Provide support for HR processes and systems including researching, developing, and documenting processes; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet business requirements.Manage Human Resource projects including planning project resources; assembling and leading project teams; time management; managing issues, risk, and quality; tracking deliverables; monitoring progress; reporting and documentation. Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Respond to all inquiries on employee transactions, data, policies, and legal compliance for HR. Manage background check process and oversee communications with applicants regarding onboarding paperwork for new hires. Effectively use HR systems to obtain, store and analyze pertinent employee data and information.Develop user processes, procedures, guidelines, and documentation. Train employees on new processes/functionality of the HR systems. Assess people, processes, and technology to ensure optimum productivity and efficiency of the HR & benefits department. Propose necessary upgrades or changes. Establish individual and team goals for HR and Benefits department, as well as establish personal goals with senior leader. Ensure goals are attainable and trackable.Maintain knowledge of State and Federal leave requirements to ensure company compliance with the provisions of FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, Employee Retirement Income Act (ERISA), COBRA, HIPAA, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Department of Labor (DOL) and other regulations impacting employee benefits.Evaluate employee benefit policies to ensure they are current and competitive.Oversee enrollment, renewal, and delivery of benefits to employees.Oversee processing of benefit programs including new employee enrollment, election changes and terminations.Oversee annual open enrollment process and ACA reporting.Assist with the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all HR data for the company. Support the team by assisting others as required to meet team deadlines.Manage assigned employees including hiring, evaluating performance, making wage adjustments, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.Plan and direct the work of assigned employees, including providing clear direction; training, developing and motivating employees; enforcing company policies and safety requirements; monitoring productivity; and resolving conflict in a timely manner. All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures.
