The Product Data Specialist will create, revise and organize technical product information for online platforms. Their duties include researching product; writing descriptions, specifications and features; and submitting feedback on proper organization in data hierarchy.
Education/Certification(s):
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in a related field such as journalism, English, technical writing or related field
Preferred Experience for the Product Data Specialist:
- Two or more years of experience writing and producing online content in a corporate, non-profit, or agency environment
Product Data Specialist Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Write, manage and update product information
- Ensure product content is effective, current and relevant
- Review the organization of products based on the intended audience
- Use research, logic, reason and knowledge to identify product specifications, descriptions, features and proper organization
- Has a solid understanding of SEO and how to leverage it in product build outs
- Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Assess the audience needs for whom the content is for and adjust tone, technical terms used to meet those needs for full understanding
- Collaborates with key business units and cross-functional team to manages change(s), solicit feedback and ensures compliance and integrity of content
- Maintains positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with all instructional staff, and support personnel

Job Requirements for the Product Data Specialist:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong teamwork and organization skills
- A strong online content portfolio is required that demonstrates writing, editing and grammatical skills
- Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text
- Understanding of web writing principles as opposed to print
- Understanding the data and content needed for ecommerce
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with a strong emphasis of knowledge in excel and word
Pay Range:
- $45,000 - $55,000 depending on experience
