Responsibilities
MTA New York City Transit Paratransit (Access-A-Ride) is a federally mandated service, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, providing origin-to-destination, demand-response, shared ride transportation for individuals with disabilities that cannot use fixed route public buses and subways. The incumbents will be assigned to the Department of Paratransit unit listed below. 

Finance and Administration 
The selected candidate must be able to:
• Write code to combine and transform datasets to meet business needs and project tasks.
• Perform statistical analyses on a wide range of datasets. 
• KPI metrics reporting.
• Research, review and develop quantitative analyses using advanced business intelligence 
(Power BI, Tableau etc.). 
• Develop operational reports used for monthly Accrual process, expense tracking, etc.
• Apply quality controls to output data to ensure accuracy for the end users.

NOTE: TA employees must be permanent in the Staff Analyst, Associate Staff Analyst, Transit 
Management Analyst and Associate Transit Management Analyst title to be considered.

Education and Experience
Associate Transit Management Analyst:
1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public 
administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, 
mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, 
industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor 
relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two (2) years 
of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data 
relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, 
and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical 
reports. One (1) year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; 
and three (3) years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One (1) 
year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I & Assistant Transit Management Analyst II:
1. A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public 
administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, 
mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, 
industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor 
relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one (1) year of 
satisfactory full-time professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data 
relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, 
and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical 
reports; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; 
and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.
Associate Staff Analyst
1. A Master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, 
organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, 
psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely 
related field, and one (1) year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, 
accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or 
methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management or in a related area; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three (3) years of satisfactory full-time 
professional experience in the areas described in 1 above.

Staff Analyst I & Staff Analyst II
1. A master’s degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, 
organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, 
psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies, or a closely 
related field; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time 
professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget. of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relation, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, or fiscal management; or in a related area. 

3.An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or  

4. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above; or 5. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", "3", or "4" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university. For one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school.  

Special Note:
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the 
minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above. 

Desired Skills
• Knowledge of Python and SQL programming.
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to utilize databases (PAIRS, ADEPT, Power BI, Tableau) and develop analytical 
reports that provide insights to the business units.
• Familiarity with Paratransit operations.
• Strong written communication skills.
