Metropolitan Management Co is Hiring an Assistant Community Manager Near West Chester, PA

Position Overview:

The Assistant Community Manager supports and assists the Community Manager in overseeing and managing the financial and operational facets of the assigned community/communities. This is accomplished by completing various accounting tasks, preparing monthly reports, processing invoices, processing rent payments, completing bank deposits, and using the property management software to record, track, and report on all financial workings of the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the community manager in guiding the onsite team, activities and resources of the property to achieve the established financial and operational goals.
  • Serves as a point of contact for residents, strongly focusing on resident retention, customer service and day to day operations.
  • Assists with obtaining leasing goals in accordance with the occupancy strategy.
  • Provides correspondence and coordination to residents regarding move-in/out logistics, rent collection and billing, notices to vacate, move out statements and deposit accounting.
  • Manages delinquencies, eviction filing, month end reporting and invoice processing.
  • Helps to review, audit, and approve pending lease applications and current resident files in accordance with company policy.
  • Completes various reports, financial processes, and administrative tasks as well as other duties assigned or necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated above and beyond customer service skills, with an emphasis on resident retention.
  • Strong historical use of property management software such an Onesite, Yardi or AppFolio.
  • Positive, self-starter who can work independently as well as with the team.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment while obtaining established goals and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate professionally, to understand and complete legal documents, sell and explain apartment features, and answer questions about the property’s operation.
  • Proficient with basic accounting concepts, addition, subtraction, and bookkeeping.
  • Prior property management experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk and/or sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, maneuver or carry weights of up to thirty (30) pounds independently and up to fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
  • Routine local travel will be required to perform job duties at assigned communities, attend training classes, attend Company meetings, perform outreach marketing, attend industry-related events and other situations as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $51,000.00 per year
