Safety Manager
The Safety Manager is directly responsible for managing the safety and risk associated with construction projects and company operations. The Safety Manager will proactively develop, plan, direct and implement Metro RF Service's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment._ Please only apply to this position if you have experience in the construction industry, more specifically telecommunication tower construction. _
Essential Duties AND Functions
· Oversees MRFs Safety Program including the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
· Oversee the development and implementation of project-specific safety policies and procedures.
· Enforce compliance with all applicable federal, state, county and local safety related regulations.
· Directs safety training programs to all levels of staff, as required, by Federal and State safety regulations to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.
· Support the onsite project managers and superintendents in ensuring each construction project is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of our employees, clients, subcontractors and the general public. Provide support to field staff in the event of an OSHA site inspection.
· Coordinate with Project Supervision so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site
· Participates in early return to full-duty work responsibilities for injured workers and provides meaningful light-duty transitional work opportunities.
· Perform and oversee the investigation of accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions including interfacing with worker's compensation claims and communication with injured workers and the return to work strategies.
· Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organizational use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Provide recommendations for remedial action
· Frequently travel to job sites to check and maintain job safety and ensure the Company and its job sites remain hazard and accident free by conducting periodic safety inspections.
Requirements
· Demonstrated years of experience managing safety efforts of large commercial construction projects across several types (Medical, Commercial Office, Educational, Religious, Multi Family, Entertainment, etc.)
· Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills required
· Ability to perform various safety functions on-site, including managing/administering safety orientations, overseeing substance abuse programs and investigating/reporting injuries/illnesses/near misses
· Ability to work with all groups: MRF staff and management, owners representatives, trades and subcontractors
· Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety processes and guidelines and Worker's Compensation Regulations.
· Effective organizational and time management skills
· Effective presentation skills
· Excellent oral and written communication
Experience:
· Safety: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
· OSHA 30
· Driver's License Location: In person
· OSHA 30 and CPR/First-Aid Certified (Required)
· Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
· OSHA 500 certification preferred
· CHST or CSP preferred
