OVERVIEW:
The Financial Assistance Administrator will work in the Financial Assistance Department, which is a homelessness prevention program funded by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) processing applications for assistance with rent arrears, utility arrears, and/or moving costs. Telephone outreach and email outreach to applicants is required for processing cases and understanding the up-to-date regulations to make eligibility determinations for each case. This is a very fast-paced position requiring excellent follow-up, communication, and organizational skills. Technological skills to utilize the platforms for processing the cases is a key aspect for success in this role as well as the ability to determine an appropriate course of action. A dedication to assisting individuals and families in crisis both with processing the funding, and referrals to other resources, is required to meet the mission of Metro and our stakeholders.
