Metro Group Inc is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Ogden, UT

Metro Group is looking for a self-starting individual who is ready to grow with a company who values constantly improving, providing a "WOW" customer service experience, has integrity, who is positive and optimistic, who works safely, and has a strong work ethic. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, your responsibilities will include driving various equipment to safely load and unload trucks and trailers and move scrap metal for recycling.

To be successful as a Heavy Equipment Operator you should be comfortable operating a variety of machines including front-end loaders, forklifts, skid-steers, and material handlers. Ultimately, a top Heavy Equipment Operator should be able to ensure the safe movement of scrap metal material. We have both a day and swing shift available!

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate industrial heavy equipment including but not limited to skid-steer, forklifts, front-end loaders, and/or cranes and balers
  • Load and unload material from trucks and vehicles
  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper operating
  • Communicate need for maintenance or repair to the maintenance department
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and customers
  • Any other duties/tasks as assigned

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2 years previous heavy equipment operation
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing heavy industrial environment preferred
  • Strong work ethic
  • Dependability
  • Ability to lift upwards of 50lbs safely
  • Able to safely climb in and out of equipment
  • Customer service mentality
