Position Overview
An Account Director is responsible for selling integrated media programs in Boston magazine, Boston Home magazine, Boston Wedding magazine, bostonmagazine.com, and Boston magazine event sponsorships. There are currently 5 account directors in Boston, and we are looking to add one more.
Accounts are assigned by categories and this position will include our second largest category, home, as well as two to three others such as real estate, medical, legal, finance or travel.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Three to five years of sales experience in media advertising sales or digital agency media buying/planning.
  • A deep understanding of the digital advertising landscape inclusive of targeting tactics, aligning product recommendations with performance metrics, O&O v Ad Networks, social media platforms/tactics, and informative campaign performance recaps that lead to renewals.
  • High-level brand story telling skills and a passion for presenting them in-person, on Teams, by telephone and in writing to both clients and advertising agencies with an emphasis on prospecting for new business.
  • An ability to develop and sell, in conjunction with marketing and creative service teams, creative solutions to category clients’ business challenges.
  • Willingness to manage your business, forecast and meet sales quotas through the company CRM.
  • Familiarity with the Boston market a plus.
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals as established by management for all products assigned.
  • Develop a deep understanding of all Boston magazine products with a particular expertise as it relates to assigned categories.
  • Actively work with existing customers to grow their spend while also prospecting for new business based on assigned categories.
  • Acts as a consultative sales professional, understanding in detail the marketing objectives and challenges of our clients and prospects.
  • Willingly provide company representation at industry related events, attend trade shows and conferences and manage our brand presence / activity at each.
  • Maintain active communication and set expectations for account coordinator to ensure successful completion of issue closes, projects, and other work related to meeting / exceeding customer expectations.
