Business Development Specialist
DEPARTMENT:Patient Billing Services
EXEMPTION STATUS:Exempt
SUPERVISED BY:Vice President of Strategic Development & Revenue Cycle
SUMMARY: The account executive is assigned to large customer accounts to professionally represent the corporation and serve as an onsite customer service representative for both MetroAtlanta staff and to the management and staff of the facility. This position will represent the company at account functions and other business development and marketing events.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Maintain positive working relationships with hospital departmental management teams at assigned accounts and resolve customer or service issues that present.
Generate new business
Coordinate medical transportation activities for MetroAtlanta Ambulance at assigned accounts and compile necessary documentation for EMS crews prior to their arrival at the contract facility
Actively market and promote services provided by MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service
Assist MAAS billing personnel as requested by retrieving documentation from assigned accounts required for billing purposes.
Represent the company at various conferences, business functions and customer events.
Maintain accurate reports of daily activities
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid State of Georgia Drivers License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or associates degree in related field with two years outside sales experience preferred.
Ability to communicate persuasively with groups and individuals, both orally and in writing in the English language.
Well versed in typing, filing, grammar, spelling, telephone and interpersonal skills, and organization.
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including work processors, typewriters, calculators, facsimile machines, copier, and other machines that require working knowledge.
Ability to use audio-visual equipment and materials in presentations.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks, to balance multiple, often changes assignments on short notice.
Demonstrated ability to “think-on-feet”.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and arms; must be able to talk or hear. The employee frequentlyis required to stand and walk. The employee is required to sit for extended periods; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Most work will be performed in or around the campus of hospital facilities. Open cubical type office environment may be used, frequent interruptions; work pressure and irregularities in work schedule are expected. Employee is continuously faced with a number of projects considered to be high priority. Employee is subject to continually changing deadlines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to travel and attend both regular and unscheduled meetings, some of which take place outside of regular working hours.
