Methodist University is Hiring an Assistant Superintendent of Grounds Near Fayetteville, NC
- Monitor project and assignment activities to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained
- Enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate performance and personnel safety
- Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements
- Responsible for supply inventory and equipment management to maintain a stock for continuous service
- Provide workers with assistance in performing duties as necessary to meet deadlines
- Direct activities of workers who perform duties, such as landscaping, cultivating lawns, or pruning trees and shrubs
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for assigned maintenance and implement policies and procedures
- Prepare various reports on operations and activities
- Participate in the selection of staff, provide or coordinate staff training, work with employees to correct deficiencies, implement disciplinary procedures
- Provide assistance and advice to University community members
- Plan and coordinate administrative responsibilities of the work unit, monitor and evaluate workloads
- Planting, weeding, mulching, and caring for plants and shrubbery on university grounds
- Monitor campus irrigation system and repair and/or troubleshoot problems
- HS Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance required
- Experience in irrigation installation and repair required
- NC Pesticide certification preferred
- Lifting/moving objects and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds as needed
- Must use hand and power tools as needed
- Must be able to work weekends as needed
