Mission / Objective: Logistics Continuous Improvement Specialist
Design and implement an effective material handling system that ensure parts are delivered on time to Production processes in a standardize way by using Lean Concepts / Implement a Containers Management System.
Essential Functions and Key Accountabilities
· Meet Proeza Internal Control Policy and Metalsa´s KPIs and MOS guidelines. Submitting and track Suppliers Monthly Scrap recovery formats.
· Follow Quality System updating and implementing work instructions. Tracking and validating all action plans are closed at 100%.
· Design and implement material flow. Defining quantity of inventory to be held at each point of use / defining containers and QPC for each part / Defining equipment needed to move parts from one point to another. / Documenting worksheets and standard work for each team member and operation. / defining routes and delivery frequency. / Making time study and determination people needed. Work with Project team to ensure implementation on new project it´s aligned with area strategies.
· Define and Improve packaging, handling and storage equipment and labeling for current and new programs.
· Document Material Information Flow from Suppliers – Customers.
· Work with Material Planners and Production Control team members to define lot sizes and define quantity of material handling and storage equipment, containers needed for each part.
· Track and Update QAD and PFEP. On QAD: Min / Max, Period orders, transit times, QPC. PFEP: Lead time, QPC.
· Validate implications on packaging due to Engineering changes.
· Implement a Containers Management System. Track containers damaged and repairs (quantity/cost). Track inventory of containers onsite and with suppliers.
· Work with Cycle Counters in order to develop improvement projects based on data and problems with Materials Control.
· Develop Improvement Projects that helps to increase business profitability, support and implement KANBAN Systems, participate on Kaizen shop, Work with other areas on Problem Solving Methodology
Academic and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent preferred
· 3-5 years of experience as Material Planner preferred
· 3-5 years of experience as production control and materials experience preferred
· Experience in QAD system or a similar inventory tracking systems required
· Capable of interfacing with suppliers and customers required
· Automotive or Heavy Industrial Experience required
· Proficient Knowledge of Problem Solving Methodologies
· Proficient in Microsoft Suite
· General TS 16949 knowledge
· TPS Knowledge (experience preferred)
· Ability to lead, work in, and participate in a team
