Here is what you’ll be doing:

  • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure compliance with specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Complete these inspections on first pieces, in-process, and final pieces per specifications on machined and pressed parts.
  • Communicate with engineering, supervisors, and manufacturing personnel in a positive and problem-solving manner by phone, written form, or in person.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics, GD&T, and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Be flexible and versatile to fill-in in other areas to meet the needs of ever-changing bottlenecks.

You’ll love this job if you have/are:

  • 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • 3 years’ experience in using inspection equipment
  • Ability to read and follow technical documents
  • Committed to contributing to the team effort
  • Flexible and willing to assist the team in other areas when needed
  • CMM operating and programming desired.
  • Plan and direct the inspection activities.
  • Be the resident expert for GD&T interpretation, application, and training applicable personnel.
  • Be the resident expert in creating CMM Programs and training Inspectors.
  • Be proficient at diagnosing and solving problems with the CMM, CMM software and probes.
  • Be proficient at using other software (i.e. SolidWorks) in creating supplemental drawings that properly document, define, and communicate requirements that are based on CAD models.
  • Be proficient on extracting Model Based Definition to properly create the needed definition, creation of , and inspection based on the AS9102 FAI requirements.
  • Be proficient at identifying, designing, and creating fixtures for part inspections when needed.
  • Perform, be proficient, and have an organized calibration system that assures gage accuracy and proper usage.
  • Possesses great communication and interaction skills with all personnel. Make sure that problems that are identified are promptly communicated to all applicable personnel and that you are always a supporting resource in trying to resolve the problem.
  • Support continual improvement activities, especially in the quality and manufacturing areas.
  • Be an effective communicator with successful interactions and outcomes regarding customer problems or requests for clarity when dealing directly with the customer.
  • Be able to perform the duties of the Quality Manager when the Quality Manager is absent

Position Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm, with possible overtime on Fridays
  • Wage Range: $21-29/ hour
