Summary:
Metal Sales is the nationu0026#39;s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Detroit Lakes, MN branch has an opening on our production team for a 2nd Shift Mill Operator.
This is a permanent full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive pay!
Regular hours for this position are Monday thru Friday 1:30 pm -10:00 pm. Overtime, including working on weekends may be required.
A Mill Operator is one of the key members of our production team. Daily responsibilities include safely operating roll formers, coil slitters, and flat sheet shears. The finished product is quality metal roofing and wall panels.
Youu0026#39;ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
u0026bull; Operating a roll former to produce metal roof, side panels and trim.
u0026bull; Checking and visually inspecting produced panels against specifications to ensure a defect free product has been produced
u0026bull; Installing panel dies during tooling change and adjusting to panel specifications
u0026bull; Entering production quantities for each order into computer system
u0026bull; Operating a forklift for positioning coils at un-coiler
u0026bull; Operating overhead cranes to load coil stock
u0026bull; Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting in other departments as needed
The most qualified candidates will have:
u0026bull; Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
u0026bull; Ability to operate a forklift
u0026bull; Ability to work independently and with others
u0026bull; High school diploma or GED
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
u0026bull; Must be able to read, hear, talk, drive lift trucks, wear PPE, and lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
u0026bull; Must be able to stand or walk approximately 7 u0026frac12; hours minimum per work shift
u0026bull; Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months
u0026bull; Noise level is moderate to loud
