Metabolon is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team of like-minded professionals who are enthusiastic about advancing the field of metabolomics and life science research. As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with Agile teams across a full stack of development tools and technologies, provisioning, configuring, maintaining, and debugging containerization via Kubernetes, and designing cloud infrastructure surrounding secure networking best practices. You will be responsible for identifying process bottlenecks and researching tools to fix them, as well as leading the availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions. You will also be responsible for quickly identifying and troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing effective solutions, as well as experience leading incident response efforts. Responsibilities

• Manage AWS (primary) and Azure (secondary) cloud computing platforms and infrastructure including for security and cost optimization purposes.
• Manage Azure DevOps organization (including user management, agent pools, build agents), and implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to support software development and delivery.
• Manage and resolve incident tickets opened by software engineering and support teams.
• Assist with maintenance of on-prem OpenShift deployment
• Design, implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions using Datadog.
• Develop and implement secure networking best practices and ensure the availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions.
• Identify process bottlenecks, research, and implement solutions for mitigation.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues in a timely, efficient manner and lead incident response efforts.
• Work with Database Architect to administer PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, a related field or equivalent industry experience
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, software development or related field.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and other container orchestration tools.
• Direct experience with configuration/orchestration tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with AWS cloud computing platform including Compute (ECS, EKS, Batch, ECR), Database (Aurora or RDS), Security (IAM, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Certificate Manager, Secrets Manager), Serverless (SNS, SQS) and Storage (S3).
• Experience with Azure cloud computing platform including Compute (AKS, App Services), Containers (ACR), Databases (SQL database), Identity (Azure Active Directory) and Security (Key Vault).
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD concepts and direct experience with a variety of CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps or similar.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools, and direct experience with implementing and managing monitoring and logging solutions such as Datadog or similar.
• Experience with RedHat 7 system administration
• Experience with Microsoft Windows system administration including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Internet Information Services (IIS).
• Expertise in scripting and automation languages and direct experience with automation tools such as Python and Bash.
• Proficiency in database administration and management.
• Ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions, as well as experience leading incident response efforts.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
