Hardware Systems Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of System Engineers responsible working on VR products.
• Develop processes to ensure proper documentation at all stages of product development, requirements flow, verification and validation, and interaction between various subsystems
• Work with technical leadership to define and document internal and external interfaces
• Define system level requirements and establish traceability to customer documents
• Engage with technology project leads, and various component SMEs in creating the overall system architecture platform as the starting point for product execution
• Communicate technology and product strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure the hardware system metrics, KPIs, standards and tools are addressed appropriately and implemented correctly
• Up to 15% domestic and international travel required
• Champion a healthy and inclusive team culture focusing on quality and engineering craft

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10 years of product experience in electrical, mechanical or optical engineering
• 3 years direct people management experience in systems engineering
• Experience with system process implementation
• Experience with architecture and systems engineering across electrical, firmware, mechanical, audio and/or optical systems
• Experience managing documentation for integrating and delivering one or more of these technologies: displays, optics, silicon, sensors, thermal systems
• BS degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline with 7 years of experience, or advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline with 4 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive (autonomous vehicles) or medical devices and consumer electronics
• Experience with image quality algorithms and the co-development of hardware and software
• Experience in managing and documentation of firmware development, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and complex sensing systems
