Meta is Hiring a Data Center FacEng Retrofits Strategic Integration & Delivery Lead Near Reston, VA

Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Facilities Engineering (FacEng) Retrofits team supports our data centers by developing and managing global processes and programs, including managing our portfolio of data center improvement and retrofit projects, supporting the gating and adjudication of capital improvement projects, guidance, facilitation, and strategic direction for capital project work affecting Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) and partners, ensuring thedirection, prioritization, and planning activities support Meta’s broader budget and IT capacity objectives.Meta is seeking a seasoned technical professional to join our FacEng Retrofits team as a Retrofits Strategic Integration and Delivery Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our data center Facility Operations teams in the delivery of modernization programs and projects in a manner that promotes efficiency across the fleet. The candidate must be experienced in project management and various communication styles in order to work with our diverse teams. Experience in engineering project management, process improvement or proficiency in data center operations is a plus, as is the ability to understand and work within an engineering team structure and get deeply into technical details.

Data Center FacEng Retrofits Strategic Integration & Delivery Lead Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the development, governance, and improvement of processes, guidance, and standards for front end development of data center retrofit programs
  • Developing and maintaining retrofit process and guidance documents and standards, as well as assisting with implementation across the fleet
  • Maintain, update standards and guidelines act as a technical engineering business owner for tooling ecosystem (DCI/MPI) and define technical system requirements
  • Support the Retrofit Project Engineers with development of front end packages with work surge
  • Lead change management for above-said processes, tooling, and documents, as well as integration with related processes and tools
  • Lead execution of the IDC retrofit management and approval process for non-GC supported retrofits
  • Engage and partner with IDC-wide teams and leadership in driving alignment on crossfunctional processes and decision-making. Help to ensure teams are working towards a common purpose without overlap or duplication, metrics are appropriate and drive predictability
  • Support the Retrofits Director int development of the right vision, goals and priorities for the Retrofits program, with emphasis on the process and governance level
  • Help communicate the strategic goals of retrofit planning and development processes to the Field Operations team
  • Engage with ISC XFN partners to ensure visibility into our retrofits program pipeline and roadmap. Gain insight with similar portfolios in other IDC pillars to ensure strong coordination between all pillars
  • Inform program management efforts for the planning, scheduling, and execution of IDC retrofit programs that impact IT capacity
  • Help facilitate analysis and tracking on cost, schedule, document control, change management and tooling
  • Stay up to speed on new productivity opportunities and approaches to capital planning, retrofits processes and standards across the industry
  • Stay up to speed on new project and program management techniques to continuously improve the team’s capabilities
  • Have the ability to travel 10 - 25% of the time as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial) or other relevant discipline
  • Experience providing vision and direction to technical programs
  • 10 years of experience in operations or project management in technical/industrial and mission critical environments
  • Experience in program management and deployment
  • Experience in leading complex projects under ambiguity in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience providing solutions to large-scale project portfolios
  • Track record of driving large processes with minimal supervision
  • Experience communicating at all levels of an organization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree or certification in engineering/project management (i.e., PE, PMP, etc.)
  • Experience leading planning and development of capital improvement projects for a large fleet
  • Experience in managing process and program deployment across multiple facilities and stakeholders
  • Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams for mission critical facility operations, particularly in processes involving engineering, construction, project management, turnaround/shutdown planning, and/or CapEx forecasting
