STARTING RATE: $23.00 MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver License and DMV Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old) JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department. Provides technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering. Provides assistance in all operational aspect of the Engineering Department. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Previous hotel/casino engineer experience required. Previous supervisor experience is preferred. Must be customer service orientated and have a positive attitude. Must be able to communicate in English. May be required to work extended hours and work in a high paced environment where a sense of urgency is mandatory. Must be organized and manage his/her time as there will be more than one task starting at the same time. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise and assist two or more engineers with the daily duties of operations. Maintain equipment and structures of all types (gas, electrical, structural, etc.). Identify concerns and provide repair/maintenance solutions. Review work orders and assign work by priorities. Perform tasks in a timely safe and efficient manner. Understand, comply with and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures, job descriptions, OSHA regulations and standards, and other written and verbal instructions. Lead, motivate, encourage, train, and coach employees as needed. Report any matters that require disciplinary action to the Department Director. Other job related duties as assigned and instructed by management. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS: Consistently make every guest feel welcome and important. Take ownership and display an ‘It’s my job’ attitude to complete each project. Foster positive interactions and trust with internal and external customers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing of tall ladders, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions, e.g., working at great heights under extreme outdoor weather conditions, under threat of physical attack or mob conditions, or in similar situations in which conditions cannot be controlled. The work environment involves exposure to second hand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
