Job Title: Lead Kid’s Attendant

Job Description

The Lead Kid’s Attendant will be an individual that is loving, enthusiastic and respectful to the children. Candidates must be able to multitask, show initiative, and be reliable. Develop and implement the planning and programming for children ranging in age from toddler, pre-school, kinder, and school age. Experience working with children with special education needs is a plus. You must be able to facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities, support children's social emotional development, and ensure children are supervised at all times in a healthy and safe environment. Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans - Create engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of programs, services, and activities to uphold participant safety, maintain program excellence, and always ensure a well-maintained environment.
  • Foster success through mentorship, guidance, and encouragement, actively encouraging program engagement and participation.
  • Support participants in making positive choices, implementing appropriate disciplinary actions when needed to create a stable and nurturing atmosphere conducive to their success.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior.
  • Communicate and work effectively with participants, team members, and parents.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure open communication and involvement.
  • Be physically and mentally capable of interacting with children up to 13 years of age, meeting all their needs and ensuring their safety.
  • Be aware of and implement safety guidelines; report any health & safety issues or incidents to management and remain calm if providing first aid (as needed) during emergency situations.
  • Visually inspect environment for hazards to children; identify hazards and implement preventative actions (i.e. set up cones to limit play area) to maintain a safe environment for children.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to each child - Monitor and assess children's progress and development.
  • Responsible for alerting the Clubhouse Manager and/or General Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has occurred or that may occur.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with all members, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all participants in the program.
  • Perform any other duties or requests assigned by the Clubhouse Manager or General Manager.
  • Maintain regular attendance on Mesa Verde Country Club property.

Work Context

Requires walking, standing, telephone, and face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams. Sometimes, you may deal with unpleasant, angry, or discourteous people. On occasion, there may be exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires being exact or highly accurate, requires repeating the same physical or mental activities over and over, requires meeting strict deadlines, Requires work with external customers or the public, Requires work with others in a group or team, Includes responsibility for work outcomes and results. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people. Must be able to lift 25lbs on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50lbs occasionally. Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, climb, crawl, squat, and stretch sometimes; requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. Must have finger dexterity to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, etc. Must be able to work in various weather conditions, and in refrigeration units, temperatures may range from -20F 115F.

Required Education, Experience, or Certifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education and/or Experience
    • Completion of 12 to 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD), or a related field from an accredited postsecondary institution, with all courses passed with a C or better grade.

OR

Possession of an Associate Teacher Permit or higher, issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

    • Preferably 6 to 12 months of experience working in a group care setting, where care and educational activities were consistently provided to a specific age group of children.
    • Strong abilities in problem-solving, resolving conflicts, managing classroom dynamics, and communicating effectively with both children and their families.
    • Proficient in organizing and managing time effectively, as well as in developing and documenting curriculum activities, including lesson planning, portfolio creation, and writing anecdotal notes.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • A preference for candidates who currently hold certifications in adult and infant/child CPR & First Aid.
