Mesa Energy Systems is a HVAC mechanical services company that provides fully integrated solutions for preventative maintenance and repair, upgrading existing mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to provide the most efficient economic solutions to meet customer expectations.

Job Title: Assistant Construction Superintendent

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the construction projects.
  • Will contribute to keeping projects within budget and on schedule. They assist in creating project timelines and tracking progress.
  • Reviews contract plans and specifications with the superintendent.
  • Manages all the administration, accounting, and personnel within the project.
  • Reviews all construction projects with the superintendent to determine the best approach.
  • Coordinates with the Construction Superintendent, business development and construction management.
  • Will meet with clients to discuss project progress, address concerns, and provide updates via required daily forms. Effective communication is essential in this role.
  • They help manage labor, materials, and equipment to ensure smooth project execution. This involves scheduling subcontractors, monitoring progress, and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Manages field services, work progress, and invoice.
  • Oversees and supervises workers, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and coordinating activities on the construction site. They work closely with the superintendent to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Oversees all correspondence.
  • Assigns duties to technicians and other employees, utilizing the expertise of each employee effectively.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relations with all managers, personnel, clients, and other outside agencies.
  • Recognizes problems, obtains solutions, and solves them in a timely manner.
  • Promotes the use of innovative techniques that reduce costs while meeting quality standards.

Job Specifications(incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field a plus.
  • A solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques is essential.
  • Effective communication with team members, subcontractors, and clients is crucial.
  • Problem-Solving for unexpected challenges on-site, so problem-solving skills are valuable.
  • Time Management skills for managing project schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively with others.
  • Prior experience working in construction, or related field.
  • Ensuring work quality and compliance with plans and specifications.
