Meridian - hs is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Waterford, MI

Meridian Health Services is looking to add to our facilities team!

Starting wage range is $17-19 hour. In additions, our essential staff is also receiving an extra $3.20/hour incentive pay when working on site.

Position Overview:
Responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of furniture, furnishings, tools, fixtures and equipment, and repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of Company facilities by performing the following duties personally or through work crew.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
1. Review job orders to determine work priorities;
2. Schedule and perform repairs, maintenance, and installation of fixtures, and equipment to ensure continuous operations;
3. Coordinate activities of client work crew;
4. Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of light, heat and cooling;
5. Direct structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings;
6. Direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as removing weeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse;
7. Direct maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations;
8. Develop and follow preventive maintenance program(s);
9. Review maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities;
10. Inspect or supervise the inspection of operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards;
11. Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials;
12. Obtain and evaluate bid information from prospective vendors for necessary equipment and services;
13. Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations;
14. Direct training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures;
15. Confer with management to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations the facility and conditions of machines and equipment;
16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in related field preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years work experience in building maintenance.

Skills: Ability to operate a computer system.

  • Ability to work with various personalities and supervise work crew.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment necessary for facility repairs.
  • Ability to conduct self in a professional and ethical manner.

Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly

Must be able to pass drug screen for illegal substances and background check. Must be able to be insured to drive company vehicles. (No more than 2 pts, no DUI or OWI)
