Responds to incoming phone calls. Takes and relays messages to the appropriate people. Performs telephone triage. Greets and checks in patients according to our registration scripting and procedure. Collect co-pays when required, keeps abreast of vision insurance plans. Handles patient chars including documenting patient care, patient and family education and other related information. Is responsible for patient care. Rooms and collects patient assessment data. Assists physicians during treatment, testing and examinations. Educates the patients on all options available to them in regards to contact leases and/or glasses. Is responsible for ordering and dispensing of contact lenses and glasses. Is able to adjust, fit, and dispense glasses. Maintain the stock of contact lenses, frames and lenses, returning defective merchandise in a timely manner to receive proper credit. Prepares invoices for payment using proper coding, Maintains timely flow of patients. May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts if physician schedule or patient flow requires. Will work alternate Saturdays. Performs other duties as assigned.
