Overview:
Performs basic cleaning functions in all areas of the Health System providing a sanitary and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Additional responsibilities include stripping and refinishing floors, carpet extraction, operating battery-powered Carpet Extractors, Autoscrubbers and Floor Burnishers, operating a forklift truck, driving hospital vehicles, performing heavy lifting tasks (movement of furniture and equipment), movement of patient furniture, hanging of cubicle curtains and drapes, sterilizer operation, organizing projects and providing leadership for project work teams.
During the absence of the supervisor the incumbent in this position assumes some routine supervising responsibilities. This responsibility may include adjusting daily schedules and assignments and assigning tasks to staff, answering pager requests, performing QA inspections and generally facilitates daily services for an area.
Performs related duties as assigned.
