This includes next generation engine and component hardware development, validation, testing and localization for US production, engine controls and diagnostics development, and calibration on engine test dynamometers and in vehicles for US and worldwide markets.The division is actively involved in development of advanced high voltage powertrain components and works extensively on topics such as electric motor control software for hybrid and electric vehicle use, in addition to development of high power charging systems for Mercedes-Benz plug-in vehicles.Job DescriptionKey Tasks & Responsibilities:A high voltage system engineer that supports developing high voltage electrical specifications/standards and components for Mercedes-Benz branded vehicles.Manage tier 1 suppliers and their activity within the project scope of high voltage system by leading meetings, keep open issues list, and publish meeting agendas/minutesPlan and manage development activities in support of project plans/ budgets by placing work & part orders as necessary to ensure timely completion of projectsRegular and proactive communication to management of project issues, delays, risks with potential solutions and needed resourcesPlan, build and coordinate prototypes parts development (up to vehicle integration) by developing detailed technical specifications, test plans and test reports Execute test plans, analyze and resolve development issues and field implementation issuesGather and analyze information of Advanced Research on power electronic components, identify promising ideas for vehicle implementation, and publish regular reports with recommendation Monitor and Evaluate new vehicle related technologies and support with supplier selection recommendation, and publish regular electric vehicle technology newsletter Participate and support SAE relevant standardization committees as required Plan and drive Task force activities as requiredStrong presentation and interpersonal skills Work independently and meet deadlinesWillingness to travel both domestically and internationallyQualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering Experience in automotive component development at a tier 1 or OEMMinimum 2 years of electric vehicle experienceFamiliar with core engineering processes such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, PVP&R, 8DFamiliar with High Voltage EE system development and vehicle integrationLab hands on experience and Familiar with Lab safety practices Excellent analytical skillExcellent verbal, presentation and written communication skillsKnowledge of vehicle diagnostic and analysis tools such as CAN/CANalyzer, ETAS/IncaExpert level Microsoft Office package(Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProblem-solving skillsProcess improvement expertiseCreativityStrong work ethicValid US driving licensePreferred Qualifications:German Language skillsAdditional InformationMBRDNA is an equal opportunity employer that offers generous benefits and compensation, work / life balance tools and several methods of recognition and rewards.
