Mercedes-Benz of Westminster is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman. This position has all the straight-forward aspects that you would expect from any technical foreman position however, it is also an integral part of a massive technician team-building process for the dealership. It is this aspect of the position where the position demands a higher level of communication skills.
This position demands a high level of physical energy by way of being on your feet most of the day. climbing in, out and underneath of vehicles and lifting, moving, or carrying large items like parts or batteries will be required at times - it is a very active job. It will demand a great deal of intensity to help build and lead our service team. You will be expected to take cleanliness, diagnosis, organization, and leadership to another level. Many long-tenured employees including five Team Members employed since day one – 18 years.

• Walks from bay to bay physically checking on technician progress in the shop as well as walking a 7-acre lot to retrieve a vehicle if needed.
• Recruits and hires new shop employees.
• Provides employee training.
• Creates and manages employee schedule.
• Oversees daily work of employees.
• Ensures technicians follow the manufacturer's Warranty Repair guidelines.
• Warns, disciplines, or terminates employees not working to company standards.
• Processes customer and client work orders.
• Enters customer and job information into computer database.
• Maintains work records and files.
• Assigns duties to shop workers.
• Assists in repair, construction, maintenance, or other tasks involved in client work orders.
• Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards.
• Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop.
• Ensures that all deadlines are met.
• Prioritizes and controls all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
• Assists employees in on-site health or safety emergencies.
• Addresses and resolves customer issues and complaints.
• Inspects and cleans shop equipment.
• Fixes equipment and company tools, as necessary.
• Orders supplies.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Performs quarterly qualification reviews with all technicians and apprentices. Submits the results to the Service Director.
• Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications – Shop Foreman:

• Must have a valid Colorado Driver's license and MVR acceptable to our insurance carrier.
• Must have a minimum of 8 -10 years working experience as a technician with Mercedes Benz.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience as a Mercedes Benz Shop Foreman.
• Must have your own personal tools.
• Must be current with all Mercedes Benz Technical Training requirements.
• Must have strong diagnostic skills.
