We are currently seeking an experienced Generator Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary: Setup, troubleshoot, repair and service of commercial customer generators by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Efficient, effective, safe, and economical use of company time and equipment
• Perform maintenance on power generation equipment and automatic transfer switches
• Perform start-up and warranty work on power generation equipment
• Perform repairs and services on all makes and models of generator sets.
• Inspections, repairs, services and start-up load bank test requirements on equipment.
• Troubleshooting equipment and servicing generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems.
• Apply proper engine technical skills in inspection, disassembly, failure analysis, assembly, diagnosis, and engine operating performance tests.
• Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps, determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts.
• Must have the ability to operate in a constant state of alertness, and safe manner.
• Must be able to travel, in company service vehicle, throughout the local counties.
• Must be able to be on-call for emergency services.
• Experience in the repair and maintenance of generator systems; from 8kW to 2800 kW preferred.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical School Certification preferred

Other Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical capability test

Candidate must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass pre-employment drug test.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
