Mental Illness Recovery Center is Hiring a Mental Health Professional Near Columbia, SC

The Mental Illness Recovery Center (MIRCI) is a progressive Non-Profit that assists homeless individuals, adults, and youth, with clinical needs and permanent housing and is seeking a Mental Health Professional to join an ACT Team.

Function:

Under supervision of the ACT Team Lead, the Mental Health Professional provides services for adults experiencing serious mental illness, trauma, and/or emotional problems in the community.

Employee Classification:

Considered a professional, exempt position that is regular full-time.

Examples of Work:

  • Participates in daily Treatment Team meetings.
  • Works as a member of the Assertive Community Treatment team to provide community-based services ensuring ACT Fidelity.
  • Coordinates, plans, and implements interventions.
  • Provides back up transportation duties for the clinical team.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of methods, principles, and practices of evidence-based, therapeutic interventions; psychopathology and patient management within a psychiatric setting; group dynamics and human development; trauma-informed care; and client interviewing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective contact with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines; community partners; and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of community supports including supportive services provided by other public and private agencies.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from an Accredited School of Counseling, Social Work or Mental Health.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical counseling program is preferred.
  • Must have a valid SC driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Training in trauma-informed care is preferred.
