Menlough Study Center is Hiring a Kitchen Assistant (PT) Near Menlo, CA

Responsibilities:
  • Be an excellent team player with kitchen staff.
  • Service-oriented.
  • Punctual.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.
  • Assist the Cook in anything she needs from washing dishes while she is cooking to help the flow of her work.
  • Setting dining room table for dinner and breakfast.
  • Clean up dining room table after dinner, wash dishes.
  • Preparing meal ingredients for the cook, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing ingredients (when needed).
  • Properly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, pots and pans, cooking instruments and cutting boards.
  • Neatly put away all utensils, cooking instruments, dishes, and cutting boards in their respective places.
  • Removing garbage, replacing garbage bags, and washing garbage cans.
  • Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as required.
  • Daily upkeep with dusting and cleaning in both the dining room and kitchen: dining room and kitchen lights, chairs, tables, kitchen cabinets, doors, and windows.
  • Storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.
  • Willingness to LEARN and ways to improve.
  • Flexibility with Study Center’s change of schedule last minute.
  • *BAKING sweets and pastries is a Plus but not a requirement.
  • Love taking care of the HOME and love your work.
Able to work these hours:
  • Mondays and Thursdays: 4:00 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 3:00 - 7:30 p.m. (If available to bake); 
  • Fridays: 3:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Kitchen Assistant Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience helping in kitchen settings and/or willing to be trained.
  • A food handler's license.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and is able to understand instructions and following through. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and is able to prioritize work tasks.
