Pay Range*: $112,257.60 - $162,739.20/annually

Position Summary

Under supervision of the Director of the Navigation Center the Director/Manager, Patient Access Center is responsible for providing oversight and management of resources for the MemorialCare Patient Access Center. This individual works with each entity and clinical teams to ensure hospital-based transport teams move patients into the MemorialCare system as requested by referral sources. As the system leader this position will be responsible for removing any barriers to success. This position’s primary responsibility is to provide leadership, oversight, and management of resource for the MemorialCare Access Center. First line of responsibility is to implement the center, in collaboration with Heath Access a combined software company. In addition to implementation, this position will be responsible for on-going organizing, evaluating, and improving people and services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Manage daily operations in collaboration with the third-party vendor (Heath Access) and as a system leader and liaison to Heath Access establish organizational KPIs. Responsible for updating dashboards and visibility boards monthly.
  • Develop systems to communicate clinical services and business metrics to appropriate parties.
  • Analyze workflows related to care redesign and work with transport teams to recommend improvements, and project manage interventions to successful completion.
  • Demonstrate strategic vision and the ability to influence and courage to effectively shape and communicate change across functional, geographic, and departmental boundaries.
  • Responsible for providing a high level of decision making to ensure operational effectiveness of the MemorialCare Patient Access Center as it grows in sophistication and services for which it provides pre- (MemorialCare) hospital services.
  • Serves as an escalation point for operational directors.
  • Coaches’ hospital teams on implementation and sustainment to facilitate high performance of their transport teams based on community needs and feedback.
  • Exercises independent clinical judgment in the facilitation of patient transports according to clinical guidelines approved by hospital entities.
  • Collaborates in a team environment to produce positive outcomes; demonstrates the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels.

  • Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
  • Experience in transport of high acuity children and adults. Strong relationships with patient transport teams and referral relationships.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and leadership across the system.
  • In depth knowledge of neonatal, critical ill pediatric, high risk maternal and adult cardiovascular patient transports.
  • Increasingly responsible experience in hospital management with a proven track record in clinical operations, analytics, and related planning.
  • Experience in aspects of patient care delivery, accreditation standards and knowledge of other assigned management of operational budgets.
  • Must have a high level of computer knowledge and competency in multiple software system environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relations with the medical staff and management team to foster and promote the goals of the organization.
  • Understands the approaches and methods of process improvement, including planning, setting priorities, systematic performance assessment, implementation based on such assessment, and maintaining achieved improvement.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent related work experience is required.
  • Master’s degree in healthcare related field is preferred.
