Description
We are currently looking for a Purchasing Agent. The right candidate will be responsible for the support of construction personnel in all budgeting and purchasing activities, including coordination of company purchasing issues with sales, operations, vendors, and accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Processing weekly starts for assigned communities and backup for other agents, as needed.
- Processing change orders to existing starts in assigned communities.
- Coordinating with Construction Managers, Sales and Design Center as necessary to expedite starts.
- Reviewing decorator’s selections and custom change orders against blueprints
- Requesting bids/pricing from vendors for budget revisions
- Working with builders and area managers
- Professionally performing detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
- Exhibiting excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED
- Experience in Purchasing
- Computer literacy in BRIX, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday.
- Ability to multitask effectively and within time constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the home building or construction industry
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work well under pressure.
