    About the Position

    The Multi-Site Operational Excellence (OPEX) and LEAN Lead drives AMMEGA global networks to reduce waste in production processes, creates conditions to assure sustainable improvements, and aids to define and drive implementation of improvement projects aligned with business strategies and priorities. The Multi-Site Operational Excellence (OPEX) and LEAN Lead develops Lean work methodology within a manufacturing environment, optimizes machining processes to reach optimum product quality, efficiency, and process repeatability at the lowest cost. Leads and deploys best practices in the manufacturing process by supporting continuous improvement in various manufacturing processes by reducing change over time, tooling costs, and improving the flow of material and setting up cycle times. Will work under the guidance of local Plant Managers in Buford, GA and Charlotte, NC manufacturing facilities. This is a multi-site role that requires regular travel between Buford, GA and Charlotte, NC facilities. Candidate may be based in either Buford, GA area or Charlotte, NC area.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Facilitate production improvement workshops onsite and remote.
    • Optimize machining processes to reach product quality, efficiency, and process repeatability.
    • Optimize workflow and cell designs eliminating non-value-added tasks for productivity and safety advantages.
      • Steer and coach global networks within Operations.
      • Develop and sustain employees training and development on lean concepts.
        • Define the requirements and assess locations adherence to Production System.
        • Agree, collect, and track necessary data on production performance.
        • Train and support continuous improvement events with departments to determine and eliminate waste (Muda) in any of its seven forms.
        • Identify manufacturing cost reductions and provide ROI justifications for change.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (technical, engineering).
    • Technical background.
    • 2-4 Years of Kaizen and Continuous Improvement experience in an industrial manufacturing - machine driven environment.
    • Ability to teach and mentor teams and individuals.
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement approach.
    • Knowledge of LEAN production principles.
    • Understanding of cultural differences in global environment.
    • Interpersonal skills / good communication in English.
    • Experienced on applying SMED methodology reducing machine set up times, and leading projects.
    • Excellent leadership skills and Business Acumen.
    • Role model for the AMMEGA Values.
    • Excellent computer skills incl. MS Office.
    • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 80%).
    • Must be able to work in the US.
