Job Duties:Identifies and assesses academic problems through analysis of factors impinging on student adjustment including factors in the home, school, and community.Serves as a liaison between families and the school to positively promote the collaborative processes in educational planning for students.Determines and implements appropriate therapeutic strategies to effect change in behavioral-social interactions of students and their families.Provides individual and group therapeutic counseling to students and their families, if warranted.Provides staff professional development opportunities and family educational workshops on identified issues related to behavioral-emotional-environmental issues affecting student participation in the learning process such as child development, stress reduction, discipline and safety, effective communication strategies, etc. If you are looking for a rewarding career to make a difference in children’s lives, then you have found the right path with Meeting Street.
